INI participates in second annual #GivingCMUDay on November 29

November 18, 2016

Any gift you make to INI on Tuesday, November 29 between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. EST counts towards the #givingCMUday goal of 1,600 donors in a 24-hour period!

You may have heard of #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that is largely fueled by social media. Observed on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

For the second year, the Information Networking Institute (INI) is joining the university in turning #GivingTuesday into #givingCMUday, a 24-hour day of giving. The success of the INI is a credit to the strong network of generous donors - alumni, students, parents, faculty, friends and staff - who give back and make a real difference.

There are plenty of ways to support the INI through #givingCMUday:

1. Donate to an INI fund,  and make a Carnegie Mellon education possible for a student.
No matter how small, every donation counts. It's whatever you can give.

  • Habiyaremye Memorial Award
  • INI Graduate Student Fellowship Fund
  • INI Strategic Fund
  • INI/EWF Fellow Fund
  • Joyce Brocaglia Executive Women's Forum Endowed Fellowship

2. Stop by the INI’s booth on the student floor from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

We’ll have Swedish fish, photo booth props and lots of other goodies to celebrate #GivingCMUday. Stop by and help us enter to win $500 for the INI!

3. Wear your CMU or INI gear on Tuesday, November 29.

INI staff will be taking photos of students sporting their CMU/INI school pride.

4. Join the Thunderclap by November 28 >

It’s an online flash mob that allows CMU supporters all over the globe to post the same message and amplify the effect. All you need to do is go to the site, enter your information, and identify the social media on which you want to have the post. Takes less than a minute.
