The College of Engineering (CIT) honored its staff with a luncheon and an annual awards ceremony on Tuesday, January 8. The CIT staff is made up of approximately 300 people with positions in the college's varied departments and research centers, as well as the Silicon Valley campus and the dean’s office. This year, several INI employees earned special accolades during the awards ceremony for their achievements in the workplace.

Six INI staff members received certificates for having reached milestone anniversaries with the college. Christa Jones and Terri Weinberg were acknowledged for 10 years of service, and Miroslava Angelova, Jennifer Burkett Feyrer and Niko Tsamitis for five years.

Ann Lyon Ritchie received the CIT Staff Recognition Award, which is given annually to one employee based on nomination letters that address the award criteria of job performance, dedication, positive attitude and contributions as a team player. As the INI's manager of communications, Ann has collaborated with multiple staff, faculty and students across CIT on a plethora of projects ranging from grant writing and website development to publicity and educational outreach.

Two INI staff members, Jessica Becker and Jamie Lehneke, were also honored as nominees for the CIT Staff Recognition Award. Both are positioned at the INI's Enrollment Services Office and have worked steadily to streamline the department's internal processes and organize activities to enrich student life. Several students from Graduate Organization at INI (GOINI) gave a supporting letter for Jessica's nomination, while students from Women@INI (WINI) supported Jamie's nomination.

"Before now, an INI staff member had never won an employee award, despite their great work and the nominations of many during the INI's eight years as a department of CIT," said INI Director Dena Haritos Tsamitis. "I am extremely proud and pleased that our talented and deserving staff gained recognition this year!"
