Class of 2007 Award Winners

By giving awards with each graduating class, the INI recognizes the students who excel among their classmates throughout their graduate program.

For the Class of 2007, the INI awarded the following students:

Donnie Kim and Xeno Kovah received the Outstanding Student Services Award as Research Assistants. This award recognizes students who demonstrated exemplary performance and contribution as either a Research Assistant or Teaching Assistant. The recipients were each given an engraved award and a $500 honorarium.

Jamar Parris and Mario Rincon each received a Verizon Fellowship Award, an award of $2000 that is granted to two outstanding students each year.

Ankini Shah received the Pradeep K. Khosla Leadership Award. This award honors the student who most noticeably demonstrated initiative, motivation, academic excellence and overall outstanding leadership qualities. Ankini was given an engraved award and a $1,000 honorarium.

Carrie Black received the Frank J. Marshall Graduate Fellowship. This award of $14,500 is presented annually to one outstanding MSISTM student. Frank J. Marshall graduated from the Electrical and Computer Engineering program at Carnegie Mellon in 1969.

Dena Haritos Tsamitis, Director of INI, and Pradeep K. Khosla, Dean of the College of Engineering, presented the awards to the recipients at the INI graduation ceremony in May.
