Director of the INI Presents MySecureCyberspace to Members of Congress

February 08, 2006

On February 1, Director of the INI Dena Haritos Tsamitis participated in the "Innovation in Action: University Research Exhibit and Reception" at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington D.C. The event was designed to present research being done by the four Pennsylvania Association of American Universities (AAU) schools to members of the United States Congress.

The exhibition included two Carnegie Mellon projects: The Robotics Institute's Search and Rescue Robots and MySecureCyberspace, an outreach and awareness initiative of the INI and Carnegie Mellon CyLab. Inspired by the President’s National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace, MySecureCyberspace empowers users to secure their own part of cyberspace with a game for children that reinforces principles of safe and responsible computing and a portal that provides customized information to users about cybersecurity threats, in addition to tactical countermeasures and legal, ethical, and privacy issues related to each cybersecurity threat
