INI Faculty Member to Visit CyLab Japan

CERT Researcher and INI Faculty Member Dr. Sven Dietrich will be traveling to Carnegie Mellon CyLab Japan in October to give a presentation about his research at CERT and Carnegie Mellon CyLab. On October 24 he will discuss topics related to Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. Dr. Dietrich is an expert in this area and recently co-authored the standard reference book on the subject, Internet Denial of Service: Attack and Defense Mechanisms. He will also discuss his research on anonymity and phishing during the talk.

Dr. Dietrich looks forward to promoting research exchange and dialogue with faculty and students at CyLab Japan. During the visit, he will also participate in a joint seminar with JPCERT on Oct 26 in Tokyo, where he will address representatives from Japanese companies and government agencies.
