The State Legislative Leaders Foundation - Protecting the Information Superhighway: The Challenges of Cybersecurity

June 02, 2005

2005 Leaders Advanced Management Program (LAMP) Program

If information is power, then no issue is more important for modern policy-makers than the protection of the technology infrastructure that underpins virtually all governmental and economic transactions today. If a state cannot provide a secure cyber network, then its activities, information and services are at risk. As the threats to these systems become more sophisticated and spread more rapidly, the job of the governments to protect them becomes more critical and more difficult. Along with the faculty of Carnegie Mellon CyLab and the Information Networking Institute, the program which takes place June 2-5, 2005, will feature national experts including Richard Clarke, former Special Advisor to the President for Cybersecurity.
