On March 31 and April 1, 2005, INI Director Dena Haritos Tsamitis and INI staff welcomed 20 prospective students at an Open House that included a core faculty panel, a lab tour, and tours of the campus and surrounding Pittsburgh area.

The prospective students toured the PDL Lab , as well as, participated in sessions with affiliated faculty who teach the core curriculum. The day's events concluded with a seminar thatfeatured presentations from current INI students. Visiting students also learned about the vibrant job market available to INI students, student start-ups and scholarship opportunities.

Attending faculty included the Dean of CIT Pradeep K. Khosla , Sven Dietrich, Rajeev Gandhi, Dave Lamont, Priya Narasimhan, Ragunathan Rajkumar, Chenxi Wang, and Tina Wong.
