CyLab is pleased to host Christopher Burgess, the COO and CSO of Atigeo, as the speaker for this week's seminar. The talk is titled "Collaborative Distributed Inferencing - Rules Based Control of Data."

The CyLab seminar takes place every Monday at noon during the semester, typically in the INI Distributed Education Center classroom at the Collaborative Innovation Center (DEC@CIC). Free pizza is provided for lunch.

Speaker: Christopher Burgess

Speaker Bio: Christopher Burgess is the Chief Operating Officer and the Chief Security Officer at Atigeo, LLC, a compassionate technology company. Prior to joining Atigeo, he served as the senior security advisor to the chief security officer at Cisco. In addition, as a senior national security executive (30+ years with the USG), he lived and worked in South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Central Europe, and Latin America where he acquired understanding of people, cultures, and societal issues. Christopher, an industry thought leader, addresses threats to intellectual property, security aspects of social media, security strategy, security education and awareness and prevention of industrial espionage. He is the co-author of Secrets Stolen, Fortune Lost: Preventing Intellectual Property Theft and Economic Espionage in the 21st Century, and a regular contributor to The Huffington Post. He also focuses on a number of societal issues such as, hunger, slavery, health, as well as how to keep ones family safe online via his personal blogs: BurgessCT and Veritate et Virtute. Christopher is a member of the external advisory board to the Mayo Clinic Center for Social Media.
