INI Seminar: Rahul Kapoor

The INI welcomes Rahul Kapoor, Senior Manager at Robert Bosch, Research and Technology Center, Pittsburgh. His talk is titled "Introduction to Robert Bosch and Internet of Things and Services."

The INI Seminar takes place every Friday, 2:30 - 3:50 p.m. This week's seminar takes place at the Distributed Education Classroom at the Collaborative Innovation Center (CIC).

Talk Abstract: The talk will be divided into two parts. Part 1 of the talk will provide an introduction to Robert Bosch including an overview of the Bosch organization, its values and the main business areas. Part 2 of the talk will focus on the topic of internet of things and services. This phrase refers to a growing trend towards interconnection of embedded systems both to each other and to the universally deployed information technology (IT) infrastructure enabling a new classes of value added applications. Important technologies and research challenges will be highlighted.
Speaker Bio: Rahul Kapoor graduated with an M.S. in Information Networking (MSIN) from Carnegie Mellon University in 2004.  He is currently a Senior Manager at Robert Bosch, Research and Technology Center, in Pittsburgh. In this capacity, he is leading the activities in the area of "Internet of things and services" at Bosch Corporate Research. His team is developing applications, technologies and business models for future internet enabled systems in domains that include automotive, security and safety systems and energy management.
