Commemoration of Rwandan Genocide, Silicon Valley

Time: April 7, 2009 - 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Location: Room 129 (Open Space), Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley

Fifteen years ago on April 7, the Tutsi genocide in Rwanda culminated into the killing of nearly one million people over the span of one hundred days. Today, the United Nations has set this date as the International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda.

Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley will join the global community to commemorate the anniversary of the Rwandan genocide, as "a reminder and warning about the persistence of genocide in our time." By coming together for a reading and fellowship, we will recognize that genocide has happened in our recent past, and could occur again, unless we all make an effort to learn from our history.

Join the Silicon Valley campus community for this event.

Please RSVP Online.

Lunch will be provided following the reading.
