INI Seminar: Mike Benson and Roelof du Toit, Netronome

Mike Benson, Senior Vice President, Platform Engineering, will discuss Netronome and some of the current projects they are working on. Roelof du Toit, Principal Software Engineer, will talk about the security line of products (SSLia).

The INI Seminar takes place every Friday, 2:30 - 3:50 p.m., at the Distributed Education Classroom at the Collaborative Innovation Center (DEC@CIC).

Speaker Bio: Roelof du Toit is a principal engineer at Netronome Systems and has more than 13 years of experience in the design and architecture of network security products. His experience includes designing IPSec appliances, key management systems, security protocols, smartcard applications, SSL applications and appliances, remote access products and PKI management systems. Roelof is co-inventor on two pending patents in the areas of electronic commerce and SSL inspection, and holds a BS (Hons) degree in computer science as well as a BS degree in electronic engineering from the University of Pretoria, South Africa.

Mike Benson has more than 20 years experience in the design and architecture of networking products for both service provider and enterprise networks. He has successfully led teams focused on advanced networking systems development and component design. His systems design experience includes hybrid ATM/Ethernet switches, packet over SONET products, network processors, ATM network interface cards, multiservice SONET-based transport products and cellular infrastructure equipment. His component design experience includes 10+ ASICs in the areas of signal processing, bus interface designs including PCI, ATM SARs, network processors, queuing devices and other networking system ASICs. Mike holds several patents in the areas of packet networking and network interface card design and has presented at numerous industry events. Mike received an MS degree from Stanford University and graduated summa cum laude from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a BS in Electrical Engineering.
