Petition Procedures

You are required to submit an INI Petition Form for program transfers, proposal submission extensions, graduation extensions, increase in units and course substitutions.

  1. Petitions submitted by INI students go directly to the Program Documentation Specialist.

  2. The Program Documentation Specialist records the submission in the student's file and emails the student that the request is being processed and he or she should expect a response in 3-5 business days.

  3. The Program Documentation Specialist forwards the petition to the Program Advisor.

  4. The Program Advisor has 3 business days to approve and/or deny the petition, with the advice of the Director if necessary.

  5. The Program Advisor returns the petition with his or her decision to the Program Documentation Specialist.

  6. The Program Documentation Specialist emails the decision to the student and sends a copy of the email to the Program Advisor.

  7. The Program Documentation Specialist places the petition and the results in the student's file.
